Tennis: Australian Open and Welcoming Aussie Life Style

My Experiences in Australia

During my visits from 1981 to 1992 I got to know this lifestyle. The Australians are hospitable, open and enthusiastic about sports. Especially as an athlete you feel totally welcome and he greeting „Good Day Mate“ confirms the feeling.

Sure, Europeans travel from winter into the „Aussie Summer“ with its sunny mood. However, the hospitality and joyful togetherness of this young nation makes the difference.

The openness and mood rubbed off on me. In addition to many beautiful memories on and off the tennis-courts, I took this attitude towards life in. In total I spent about 50 weeks „down under“, and maybe I can still turn it into 1 full year !!
