Athletes Do Not Resign

The Olympic Clock is ticking,
putting the athletes under pressure.

What role does the ticking Olympic clock play in athletes minds?

The clock is running and that creates pressure, mainly mental pressure. An athlete has to exercise all the time. The more I am prevented from specific training, the more a discrepancy arises.

How does it feel when the whole life is focused on the games in an Olympic year?

The focus doesn’t only lie on this year. Athletes go through a long development. In top sports coaches plan long-term. Some trainers create spreadsheets including training camps, competitions and home training sessions. Athletes follow up their daily training sessions via the app. The preparation lasts at least from the previous Olympic Games to the next. It is different for experienced athletes, as they cannot increase their performance as much and might have participated at Olympics before.
